Inter are reportedly eager to sell Alexis Sanchez this summer, as he is the top earner in the squad, and could even pay to terminate his contract early.

The 33-year-old is under contract until June 2023, but few believe he will be part of the team at San Siro next season.

He has fallen back down the pecking order under Simone Inzaghi now that Joaquin Correa has recovered from injury.

In the last five Serie A matches, Alexis Sanchez only made two substitute appearances for a total of 39 minutes on the pitch.

The Chile international also has the highest salary in the squad, so it does not make financial sense to keep him on when playing so little.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, if Inter cannot find a buyer in the summer, they are prepared to pay him a €4m handshake deal to terminate the contract early by mutual consent and get him off the books.

He has nonetheless contributed seven goals and five assists in 31 competitive games this season, including the extra time Supercoppa Italiana winner against Juventus.

4 thought on “Inter ready to cut Alexis Sanchez loose?”
  1. Sanchez is still a good player and turns up in big games and his movement in and around the box is unpredictable. If I were Milan I would make contact as they need a clever striker who can unlock defences. It is not like they can get the best players in their prime so a decent short term solution.

  2. How did you agreed to the salary at first conte wants him, now conte is gone if he can’t reduce his salary he can leave

  3. I’ve always liked Sanchez, very dynamic player even at his age. If he’s making some kind of huge salary though it’s tough. He should have known he was going to a club where every year they are asking players to cut their salaries.

  4. Inter will probably sacrifice him for Dybala. Both part-time players, but Dybala is still just 28 years old.
