Inter director Marco Fassone insists the club is not worried by the looming prospect of Financial Fair Play sanctions.

It was reported yesterday that the Nerazzurri face a fine of up to €7m, as well as being forced to reduce their European squad, having failed to comply with financial regulations.

“Are we worried by the UEFA investigation?” Fassone considered as he spoke to journalists outside the FIGC headquarters.

“Not particularly. We’re waiting for a communication from UEFA, then we’ll evaluate.

“I wouldn’t make a connection between the situations of Inter and Roma, and the state of calcio in general. Inter and Roma, as you know, are under UEFA investigation for financial statements in the last three years, and will make their own way.

“The condition of Italian football is more general, and the situation is more complicated to deal with.”
