It is reported that Inter have opened talks with Roma over the potential signing of Kevin Strootman.

The Dutch midfielder, who has been at the Stadio Olimpico since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2013, is said to be a priority for the Nerazzurri in this summer’s transfer window.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, negotiations are already underway between the two clubs over a possible deal, although the San Siro club are reluctant to pay the 28-year-old’s €45m release clause.

A deal is not thought to be close to being struck, but the Italian sports website claims Inter are determined to land their target and will push more strongly for his signature once the season is over.

Meanwhile, it is thought that Argentine forward Facundo Ferreyra is not on Inter’s list of summer targets, contrary to other reports.

Instead of the Shakhtar Donetsk man, Tuttomercatoweb surprisingly put forward Hull City’s Abel Hernandez as a possible reinforcement to Luciano Spalletti’s squad.
