Inter will not sign a replacement for the injured Marko Arnautovic in January, believing they have an adequate replacement in the Primavera squad.

The 34-year-old Austrian striker was forced to exit early in the Nerazzurri’s win over Empoli after pulling up with an apparent hamstring injury, which was confirmed in medical tests today. He is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

Arnautovic has featured often under Simone Inzaghi this season as a rotation option, pushing the coach to find a replacement for the coming months.

As reported by Tuttosport via TMW, Inzaghi believes that 19-year-old striker Amadou Sarr is capable of taking to the pitch with the first team, having impressed with the Primavera squad.

The teenager trained with Inzaghi and his players during the summer training camp and is considered the most physically ready in the youth squad.

Whilst Sarr is unlikely to feature heavily in the coming months, it’s the first step of his promotion to the Inter first team.
