According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan Skriniar hasn’t yet given a final answer to Inter about his contract extension so the Nerazzurri fear he’ll leave for free at the end of the season.
The Slovakia international’s current deal expires in June and the Serie A giants have offered him a new €6m-a-year deal plus add-ons. It’s a massive pay rise considering his current €3.8m-a-year salary, but Skriniar was offered €8.5m by PSG last summer, a sum that the Nerazzurri can’t match.
Inter directors were supposed to meet Skriniar’s agent today, but it’s unsure whether the encounter will take place. Surely, Skriniar won’t give Inter a final answer before next week and the Nerazzurri fear he will leave as a free agent in June.
According to Gazzetta, the Serie A giants haven’t ruled out any option, including selling Skriniar in January. As of today, the 27-year-old hasn’t received any offer for the winter transfer window, but if the Nerazzurri cannot extend his contract in the coming weeks, they will try not to lose him for nothing in June.
PSG and Tottenham have been linked with signing the Slovakia international, who joined Inter for €34m from Sampdoria in 2017.
It would be great if he stays at the right price. If no they have to get something for him. When one pope dies they get another!
