Inter are said to be monitoring Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga as well as a number of other Premier League centre-halves as the Nerazzurri plan to provide Simone Inzaghi with another option at the back before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri, who have already brought in Yann Aurel Bisseck, but have lost both Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio since the end of last season, are still looking to bring a new defender to San Siro this summer according to reports.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio notes that Tanganga is a player who is fondly admired by the decision makers at Inter, but there has not yet been an official approach.

The 24-year-old Englishman reportedly has options to chose from in the Premier League, but would prefer to hold out for Inter.

Elsewhere, the dream target for the Nerazzurri is said to be 19-year-old Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini, but La Dea currently have no intention of selling.

Di Marzio claims that Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Arsenal’s versatile Takehiro Tomiyasu are also on the list of potential defensive candidates.
