Federico Dimarco has become a key figure in the Inter squad and is one of few homegrown players, but according to reports there are concerns over negotiating a new contract.

The 25-year-old is a product of the Nerazzurri youth academy and a self-confessed supporter of the club, which helped him become one of the fan favourites at San Siro.

He has already impressed this season, contributing two assists in three Serie A appearances.

Dimarco has a contract with Inter until June 2026 and is reported to be earning circa €1.8m per season.

According to FCInterNews.it, both the player and the club are eager to sign a new contract that will run to June 2028.

However, while the directors would like to give him a raise to €2.5-2.7m per season, whereas his agents are pushing for closer to €3.5m.

It is believed they could reach an agreement at €3m, perhaps bolstered with some bonuses.

Dimarco now has 101 appearances for the Nerazzurri, contributing eight goals and 17 assists.
