There are growing reports Inter will give Andre Onana his debut in the Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, while Robin Gosens and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could also start, with Nicolò Barella benched.

It kicks off on Wednesday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT) at San Siro.

Romelu Lukaku is out injured, so Edin Dzeko seems the favourite to partner Lautaro Martinez, after Joaquin Correa started in the 3-2 derby defeat to Milan.

There are some big surprises in store from coach Simone Inzaghi, as Sky Sport Italia report that Barella will be rested in favour of Mkhitaryan, although Hakan Calhanoglu is another player who could be sent to the bench.

Gosens, who had been linked with a move to the Bundesliga on transfer deadline day, is tipped for a spot on the left flank, with Denzel Dumfries on the right.

The biggest change could be in goal, where former Ajax ‘keeper Onana is still waiting for his debut since joining Inter this summer as a free agent.

Samir Handanovic was criticised by fans and media after recent performances, including the Derby della Madonnina defeat to Milan.

The switch to Onana would be a risky one in a game of this magnitude with absolutely no warm-up, considering he made only 10 appearances last season for Ajax.

The Cameroon international shot-stopper spent much of the campaign suspended for failing a doping test, then sustained a groin injury in April.
