Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello reveals how much the new kit sponsorship deals are worth and admits the club may ask their players to take a pay cut.

The Serie A champions announced a new kit sponsorship deal with Socios.com yesterday, replacing their legendary main sponsor Pirelli after 26 years.

However, Socios.com is not the only sponsor that will appear on Inter’s new kit.

“We sold the back-of-shirt sponsorship to Lenovo and now we are looking for a new sleeve sponsor to reach €30m for the entire shirt,” Antonello told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I know fans are divided over the new kit, but I find it brilliant as it recalls the snake’s skin.”

Inter had to sell Achraf Hakimi to PSG for €71m to balance the books and Antonello has confirmed the Nerazzurri need to save €325m between amortization and salaries and earn €70-80m on the market this summer.

“We’ll take stock of the situation after the end of the transfer window and only after we may ask the players to take a pay cut, following Juventus‘ model.”

The Old Lady’s players had agreed to a four-month pay cut in March 2020, after the Serie A campaign had been suspended due to the COVID pandemic.

The spread of the virus has affected Inter’s owners Suning so much that the Nerazzurri had to complete a financing operation for a €275m loan from Oaktree Capital, with three years to pay it back.

“With this financial operation, Suning has confirmed its commitment to support the club in the medium-long term,” Antonello ensured.
