An overhaul of the Inter goalkeeping department is in line for the start of next season and a change in personnel has already been confirmed as of Thursday morning.

La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Inter’s current goalkeeping coach Adriano Bonaiuti will depart from San Siro at the conclusion of this season.

Bonaiuti will be replaced by 56-year-old Milanese Gianluca Spinelli, who currently serves as a goalkeeping coach under Roberto Mancini with the Italian national team.

Spinelli has also spent the last four years in a duel-role with club side Paris Saint-Germain, where he was initially brought in around the same time as Gianluigi Buffon in 2018.

Since Buffon’s departure, Spinelli has worked with a number of ‘keepers in Paris, most recently with ex-Milan stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

For Inter, there could yet be more changes to the current line-up in the goalkeeping ranks as Samir Handanovic is tipped to leave the club after an 11-year spell in Milan.

If rumours are to be believed, then there is also interest in current no. 1 Andre Onana as well, particularly from Chelsea and Manchester United, according to Gazzetta.
