Milan and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Marcelo Brozovic as a free agent, but Beppe Marotta says Inter are confident about the Croat’s contract extension.

Brozovic sees his current deal expire at the end of the season and talks with Inter regarding a contract extension have not begun yet.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Milan gave begun preliminary talks with the player’s agent as Franck Kessié is not likely to extend his stay at San Siro.

Catalan paper sport adds that Brozovic is among Barcelona’s targets for the summer along with the Rossoneri star.

However, Inter are confident Brozovic will eventually sign a contract extension with them.

The club’s director Beppe Marotta spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport, revealing that talks with the Croatian midfielder will begin soon.

“We’ll meet Brozovic next week and we are confident [about a contract extension],” Marotta said.

Meantime, the Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with Lautaro Martinez.

“We are going to announce his extension within ten days, he is the future of Inter and we want to keep him at the club,” insisted Marotta.

The Serie A giants are planning to sign two players in the January transfer window.

“If needed, we are ready to make ourselves one or two gifts,” revealed Marotta.

“We want to help Inzaghi reach the second star keeping an eye on the club’s finances.”
