Francesco Acerbi’s future in Lazio is in doubt and Inter are keeping a close eye on the situation.

The 33-year-old Italian defender has hardly featured in 2022 after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3-3 draw with Empoli back on January 6. The player has fallen out with the fans this season after doing a ‘shh’ celebration in response to the criticisms that he’s been receiving this campaign; the fans did not take this well and they refused to accept his resulting apology.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Acerbi’s agents are currently in Rome and will be at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow to watch the game against Napoli. His entourage are set to met with Lazio’s management soon to try and clarify the defender’s future in the Italian capital.

Inter are closely monitoring the situation and there’s a chance that they could look to make a serious move for the former Sassuolo man in the upcoming summer transfer window. Coach Simone Inzaghi knows Acerbi well from their time together in Rome.
