Inter appeared to taunt Milan on Twitter with a tweet about Hakan Calhanoglu but then removed the post.

The Nerazzurri secured a 3-0 win over their city rivals on Wednesday, winning the second Supercoppa in a row.

They published several celebratory tweets after the final whistle including one about Calhanoglu which read: ‘Yes, we really did sign Calhanoglu on a free transfer.’

It caused controversy and it was then deleted by the Nerazzurri’s social media team, so it is no longer visible in their feed.

The Turkey international joined the Benamata as a free agent in 2021 after his contract with the Rossoneri expired.

Milan fans trolled and insulted Calhanoglu after winning the Scudetto last season and the former Rossoneri star took his revenge in Riyad on Wednesday.

“Of course, I always prefer to stay quiet. It was very nasty for me to see things I did not expect, but karma comes around, karma comes around,” he said after the final whistle.

“We were hungry today, they have to respect that with a 3-0 result, we sent them home quickly.”

Calhanoglu has scored 11 goals in 70 appearances with the Nerazzurri, winning one Coppa Italia and two Supercups.
