Inter are eager to get ahead of the competition for Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini, including Juventus and Manchester City, and could have a secret weapon.

Scalvini will turn 19 next month and is a product of the legendary Atalanta youth academy, working his way up the ranks to become a regular for Gian Piero Gasperini this season.

He also earned three senior caps for Italy and is considered the heir to Alessandro Bastoni.

This is why Inter would love to bring Scalvini in to play alongside Bastoni at San Siro, but they face strong competition from the likes of Juventus and Manchester City for the €30m-rated defender.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Nerazzurri might have the key in the form of their own youth team talent, Giovanni Fabbian.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Reggina, scoring four goals in 13 Serie B games this season.

Atalanta are said to be interested in Fabbian and could cut the Scalvini price if a part-exchange was proposed.

  1. finally – ive been talking about this guy for over a yr, he wont go to man city, as he is very determined character and is very very humble – he knows how to make the right decisions, he’s 3yrs above his age in terms of football

  2. If Fabbian is a good option then why don’t Inter give him a chance? Scalvini-Bastoni-Skriniar would be a solid back three though.
