Inter CEO Beppe Marotta could look to bring the full-back to San Siro to reunite him with new Coach Antonio Conte, whom the defender played under during his spell as national team CT.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, featuring just six times in the Premier League this season, and has just one more year left on his contract.

The defender joined the Red Devils in July of 2015 after putting in some good displays with Torino and impressing during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He had been in negotiations for a return to Serie A in January, with Inter, Roma and Juventus said to be interested.
