Inter will push for Luka Modric again in future, aided by the arrival of former Juventus director general Beppe Marotta.

New President Steven Zhang, the son and one of the heirs to the Suning Group fortune, officially replaced Erick Thohir this week and has big plans.

One of the first issues under discussion will be the arrival of Marotta, who was effectively pushed out of Juventus by President Andrea Agnelli.

It has been widely reported that Marotta has already been in talks with Inter and specifically with Zhang for the new role at San Siro.

According to Tuttosport, Marotta will try to patch over the row with Real Madrid and make another push for Modric, either in January or more likely at the end of the season.

With the Merengues struggling badly and Coach Julen Lopetegui hanging by a thread, Modric is increasingly sure he wants to move on and try a new experience.

Modric is being repeatedly urged to make the switch by his fellow Croatia internationals Ivan Perisic, Sime Vrsaljko and Marcelo Brozovic.
