Giorgio Scalvini is the next best thing coming out of Bergamo and has attracted the attention of a number of top clubs, including Inter and Juventus.

The 19-year-old Italian defender initially started out with local side Brescia before switching to Atalanta’s youth system in July 2015. After progressing up their ranks, he was promoted to the first team in August 2021 following a successful spell with the Primavera squad.

Scalvini has been one of the revelations of this season for Atalanta, scoring two goals across his 14 Serie A appearances under Gian Piero Gasperini.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Atalanta are preparing to hold a summer auction for Scalvini, with many top sides around Europe keen on the teenager.

Inter and Juventus are both seriously interested, with the former ready to offer Giovanni Fabbian in exchange, and the latter already holding talks with the defender’s agent.

Whilst a transfer market Derby d’Italia approaches, the two Serie A sides will need to be wary of competition from abroad, with teams like Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool all concretely keen too.
