Lorenzo Insigne says he is relishing a ‘great’ end to the season, which sees Napoli still in with a shout of the Scudetto.

Insigne’s Napoli go into the final nine rounds of the season just two points behind Juventus and could move top of Serie A if they beat the Bianconeri on April 22.

“I’m calm, I’m ready for a great end to the season,” the attacker told Corriere dello Sport.

“Now only one thing counts: to play well and win at Sassuolo! Now there’s the League and it’s important to do well.

“Saturday’s match is very important. It’s true, I repeat: we have to play well in order to win.

“[There must be] no more thinking about the past because if we don’t have the head to start again, it’ll be hard.”

Insigne scored a late penalty to salvage Italy a 1-1 draw with England on Tuesday, and the 26-year-old believes in a bright future for the Azzurri.

“Italy? We must play well so this national team can grow and deservedly return to the great competitions,” he added.

“We’ve rolled up our sleeves, we’re united and we want to take Italy as high as possible.

“In this sense, I hope other important young players grow and are able to give us a hand.”
