Andres Iniesta says Andrea Pirlo is ‘an icon’ and assures he’ll be fit to face him with Barcelona on Saturday.

Pirlo will face his fourth Champions League final and first with Juventus, with the Spanish midfielder lining up on the other side.

“I’m not even thinking about missing the final,” Iniesta told reporters, following an injury scare in the Copa Del Rey final.

“I had a few problems, but nothing serious.

“Are we favourites? We don’t feel that way, no-one is thinking like that in our dressing room.”

Iniesta is also looking forward to a face-off between Pirlo and Xavi, who will play his last game for Barcelona.

“I hope we can give Xavi the best send-off with a triumph in this kind of game. It will be an extra motivation for all of us.

“Pirlo? He’s an icon of football. His passes can unbalance his opponents, and his name is synonymous with good play.

“His duel with Xavi will be amazing.”
