Ciro Immobile felt Lazio “deserved to go through” to the Coppa Italia semi-finals past Inter, but “it was almost stolen from us at the 120th minute.”

The striker had finally given them the lead at San Siro in extra time, but VAR awarded a penalty and Mauro Icardi converted with the final kick of the game.

This forced it to a shoot-out and Radja Nainggolan saw the decisive finish fingertipped over the bar.

“We deserved to go through and should’ve won earlier, but it was almost stolen from us at the 120th minute,” Immobile told Rai Sport.

“If there was a team that should’ve won, it was Lazio. We don’t know what happened with the penalty incident, we’ll have to see it again.

“I put my heart and soul into the match and tonight we won back some of what we lost to Juventus last week. Now we hope to get revenge on Milan.”

Lazio lost the Coppa Italia semi-final to Milan on penalties last season and they face off again.
