The Norwegian thought his career was over when a firework exploded just centimetres from his face on New Years 2020 shortly after his arrival in Istanbul, which saw lose his sight in both eyes.
His was treated for a cornea transplant at Cincinnati Eye Institute where his condition was described as “four times worse than those suffered by an American soldier he treated who was blinded by a bomb in Afghanistan,” according to The Guardian.
