“I had included Josip in the squad list, but the player decided to refuse the call-up. He did not respond to my calls or messages, letting me know he does not want to play for Slovenia as long as I am there.
“I am disappointed with his choice, but I have to accept it. Everyone is responsible for their own decisions.”
The 26-year-old trequartista has one goal from 26 senior caps with Slovenia.
