According to Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta‘s Josip Ilicic has given the all-clear to join Milan, but the Rossoneri still need to reach an agreement with La Dea.

The Rossoneri are on the lookout for a new attacking midfielder to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, who has joined Inter as a free agent.

A number of creative midfielders have been linked with a move to the San Siro, including Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech or Real Madrid outcasts Isco and Dani Ceballos.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta’s Josip Ilicic is in pole position to join the Rossoneri, having already reached an agreement with the Serie A giants.

The economic details of the agreement haven’t been disclosed, but according to the report, the former Palermo man has given the all-clear to join the Rossoneri.

Both Gian Piero Gasperini and Atalanta’s CEO Luca Percassi have confirmed they are waiting for offers for the 33-year-old.

The Rossoneri will be waiting until the final days of the summer transfer window to submit a formal offer to La Dea, hoping to sign Ilicic on the cheap.
