Referee controversies in MilanFiorentina continue off the pitch, with Jonathan Ikoné saying Fikayo Tomori deserved a red card and Fodé Ballo-Touré trolling him.

Milan ended 2022 with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina at San Siro on Sunday. However, the Tuscans protested over a potential penalty kick caused by Tomori for a foul on their winger Ikone in the second half, minutes before Nikola Milenkovic’s late own goal.

The controversial incident has dominated the debate in Italy, and Ikone continued to protest on social media, where he posted one picture of Tomori’s potential foul.

Milan defender Ballo-Touré, a close friend of Ikoné, commented on the post, writing in French: ‘There is nothing in your big head.’

Ikone hit back saying that Tomori deserved a straight red card, but the Milan defender had the last word: ‘It’s over and you lost.’

Milan are now eight points behind table leader Napoli, while Fiorentina sit tenth with 19 points in 15 matches.
