Inter could sell Icardi this summer after he allegedly refused to play for the club in the six weeks that followed him losing the captaincy, but Wanda reiterated her husband was going nowhere.

“Mauro wants to stay, it’s his choice,” she told Tiki Taka, where she was joined on stage by Antonio Cassano.

“If Spalletti stays at Inter for the next 100 years, Mauro will for the next 150. That’s how he answered when I asked him, plus he’s younger.”

The striker started the Derby d’Italia against Juventus on Saturday, helping the Nerazzurri to a 1-1 draw.

“There was a calm climate, I liked it,” she added.

“The Derby d’Italia is always the Derby d’Italia. I didn’t know Icardi was playing from the start.

“I’m not friends with Spalletti like [Cassano] is. I liked how Mauro played, he played for the team like he has been lately.

“For me he had a good game. Mauro is someone who listens and does what he’s told to do.

“During the game, he approached the bench to talk to Spalletti.”
