“We had done well against Milan, but when conceding two goals from the first two shots on target, that knocked the wind out of our sails,” said Iachini in his Press conference.

“It’s important to keep working and limit the errors. We know it won’t be easy, because Parma are very dangerous, especially away from home and have forwards like Gervinho, Roberto Inglese and Jonathan Biabiany.

“Every game is crucial for us and an opportunity to pick up valuable points. Parma proved how effective they can be when given space to run into, so we must read the situations well and neutralise their strengths.”

Empoli and Parma were both promoted from Serie B last summer, but Iachini is concerned striker Francesco Caputo is going to burn out.

“He plays all the time and is physically fine, but he’s been going non-stop at 100km/h for a year and a half, so it’s only natural if he has a dip in form. We’re doing some specific work with him, as he is fundamental for our team.”

Empoli squad for Parma: Dragowski, Perucchini, Provedel; Dell'Orco, Di Lorenzo, Diks, Maietta, Nikolaou, Pajac, Pasqual, Rasmussen, Silvestre, Veseli; Acquah, Bennacer, Brighi, Capezzi, Krunic, Traore, Ucan; Caputo, Farias, La Gumina, Oberlin
