Lazio’s latest transfer target in attack is Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who is ready to leave Schalke 04.

According to Sport Mediaset, Huntelaar is deeply disappointed at the lack of Champions League football with his current club.

The Aquile finished third in Serie A and will therefore go into the preliminary round of Europe’s premier competition.

It would be a return to Italy for Huntelaar, who had a poor one-season spell at Milan in 2009-10.

The former PSV Eindhoven, Ajax and Real Madrid star turns 32 in August.
