Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma players were ‘not bothered’ by José Mourinho’s speech inside the Stadio Meazza dressing room after their 2-0 loss against Inter and that the team leaders stand by the coach’s side.

The Rome-based paper reported yesterday that Mourinho had blamed his players after an unconvincing performance and a 2-0 loss against Inter on Tuesday. The former Chelsea and Manchester United coach used harsh words and accused his players of ‘not having the balls’ and ‘lacking personality.’

Mourinho furious with Roma players: ‘You have no personality’

The Special One was all but happy after the elimination from the tournament and made sure Roma players knew his feelings.

There’s a new update on today’s edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, claiming that Roma players were not too bothered by Mourinho’s speech as they are now accustomed to Mourinho’s adrenaline rush.

Mourinho spoke to his players again yesterday, but his mood was different and the tone was much more relaxed. Players were only upset because somebody informed the newspaper about Mourinho’s speech, but the dressing room leaders reportedly stand by the coach’s side and want to show an immediate reaction starting from Sunday’s match against Sassuolo.

  1. Why should they? There’s more to the human psyche than just shouting at someone and hope it gets better. Jose is a dinosaur.

  2. Why is it that, it’s always Jose that gets angry at his players??? Pretty sure most managers lash out at his players after a loss, but somehow it’s always Josse that gets mentioned because the media hate him and will do anything they can to cause disharmony towards him and his players!! The English media are obsessed with him and it now looks like the Italians are doing the same!! The media obsession with Jose is kind a weird🤔

  3. They might not be the best, but what did Jose ever win as a player? Just some arrogant little guy who had success 10 years ago and now likes to bully and abuse people, fail in his job and get paid millions. When will clubs stop hiring this dinosaur?

  4. What a dumb thing to say Chris JP.
There are tons of great coaches that were nobody as a player and the other way around.
Success 10 years ago, that counts for nothing? Roma is not meant to be winning trebles. Their goal is to finish top 4 and so the decrease in quality in José’s work from treble winner to now.. makes him a great candidate to take Roma to that objective.
You’re probably one of the snowflake/woke crowd like the players these days who are little kids compared to the earlier days. Fergueson would be what these days? Conte doesn’t get crazy? You need to have a reality check.

  5. That success 10 years ago will be attached to his name as long as he lived , what bout that ? If you don’t have anything negative to say about someone who already made name for himself unlike you, then go home

  6. There is no doubt that he is a great coach and manager, but in football, you’re always as good as your latest reslut.

And, yes, the british press is a bunch of c**ts, but we allready know that.

If you want to build a club-culture with champion DNA, you need to start with someone who has experienced it first hand. Too many years I’ve been hopeful on behalf of Spalletti (twice), Rudi, Fonseca, Di Francesco, Montella and back in the day, post Capello, with Prandelli and Ranieri. What happens? The team crumbles under pressure, and, as they say; Rome stops in april.

Hope José is in for the long run!

  7. Tell me Chris how good has United been since Jose left??? How good has Spurs been since Jose left?? I take it you’re one of those little snow flakes that like to receive trophies for finishing in 7th place!!

  8. Things will good in the right direction soonest Mr Jose. I like you so much and know that you are doing very well.

  9. @ JP, let me say you are ignorant to say Jose ain’t successful. Show me your cv so we know could how successful you. Roma fc are not right enough to be champions.

  10. @ JP, let me say you are ignorant to say Jose ain’t successful. Show me your cv so we could tell how successful you are. Roma fc are just not ripe enough to be champions. Top 6 finish is the least

  11. Coach is horrible. Rudi Garcia was are best coach we had in a long time. These players he wants and spends on is crazy. Doesn’t know where to play Zaniolo and these Portuguese players he has are going to be hated if Qatar gets Ronaldo in that tournament. Time to bring in players that will die for there shirt not players who think the city is good for food & living. Chelsea would be stupid to pay that bye back clause of 80mill. Ibanez, Spinnazolla,Mancini,Zaniolo, Pellegrini have to stay. They will fight for the city/Roma. I like Carles Perez too but Smalling, Crisante, ELS,Shomurdov and even the right money for Veretout need to go

  12. Sometimes this is necessary unless Roma fans become like Arsenal fans who are accustomed to losing. But these boys are responding so well unlike man united players .Jose and Roma are progressing and it is evident.

  13. It simple, the players are not good enough. Give Jose the money, he will buy better players.
Iook at the goals we are conceding.

  14. Shomurodov was playing so well at the beginning of season!! Now Mour is not giving him chance to help the team

  15. Bored I watched the game, Roma were poor, Jose is right. There is a lot of mental weakness in football today. Its not just Jose having a go, all managers have their moments even Pep but all we hear about is Jose. It seems the media are totally against Jose and its their constant hounding, negative media against him that have unsettled the clubs hierarchy. I believe If it wasn’t for all the negative press that occurs around Jose he probably wouldn’t have been sacked from other jobs. Football is a business and no business wants to put up with negative publicity as it reduces profitability. Unfortunately Jose comes with a lot of press fueled baggage and its this baggage and constant negative view in the press that eventually becomes Jose’s downfall. Give Jose the support and the players he asks for and you will win something. The press just need to focus on other things and give Jose a break
