José Mourinho looked agitated when Napoli were awarded a penalty kick against his Roma side and then appealed for a yellow card for Tanguy Ndombele who he accused of diving.

Referee Massimiliano Irrati awarded a spot kick for the Partenopei at the end of the first half of tonight’s clash between Roma and Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico.

Rui Patricio got a fingertip to the ball but also crashed into Tanguy Ndombele prompting the referee to award a penalty to Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Mourinho didn’t seem to agree and waved from the touchline, signalling that Irrati’s call was wrong.

The Special One was eventually proved right as the penalty was cancelled after a VAR check, once Irrati saw that Rui Patricio moved the ball wide with a good hand to it.

Even then, Mourinho was not satisfied and demanded a yellow card for his former Tottenham midfielder Ndombele.

That, however, would have been way too much given that the Roma goalkeeper hit Ndombele who did not fall on purpose.
