Pipita took a knee in the back from Rolando Mandragora and struggled on for around 10 minutes before asking to be replaced.

According to Sky Sport Italia, he immediately saw Milan’s chiropodist in the locker room, but returned to the bench in order to watch the rest of the match.

It seems to be only a bruised coccyx and Higuain is not believed to be in doubt for next week’s showdown with his former teammates.

However, he may well be rested for Thursday’s Europa League visit to Real Betis.
