“I don’t think it’s serious. It’s just a knock,” Wilmots told reporters.

The 25-year-old will be particularly eager to impress Italy boss Antonio Conte, who is taking over at Chelsea next season.

Belgium should also have defender Thomas Vermaelen available to face the Azzurri after recovering from a calf injury.

“Thomas has done well in training over the last days and is completely ready for the battle. He has no more problems.”
