There has been considerable unrest amongst Inter supporters in recent times, with Walter Mazzarri hugely unpopular with the Beneamata faithful.
Now the former Napoli Coach has been replaced by Roberto Mancini, the goalkeeper hopes fans will back the team once again.
“When they’re deserved, it’s right for fans to whistle,” Handanovic told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Sometimes they’ve whistled us, and it’s been deserved.
“It’s normal that the supporters are used to the Milan teams being great, and always have high expectations.
“We need the enthusiasm of the fans. Things will return to normal.
“So, I say to them: ‘Don’t just go to the movies when Inter are playing!’.
“You have to come back to the stadium, because we need you.”
