West Ham United are reported to have re-joined the race to sign Milan and Chelsea target Bernard.

The Brazilian is currently a free-agent, having left Shakhtar Donetsk following the expiration of his contract in July.

The Blues are thought to have offered the 25-year-old a contract and have given him until Tuesday to decide whether or not to sign it.

The Hammers were interested in Bernard’s services earlier in the summer but turned their attention to other targets when the winger wanted wages of £200,000-a-week.

However, Bernard is still yet to find a club and The Guardian report he has lowered his demands.

Bernard, who has been capped 14 times by Brazil, left Shakhtar this summer after five seasons in Ukraine.
