Francesco Guidolin was overjoyed after a “magical evening” that saw Udinese conquer Liverpool at Anfield and revealed his half-time approach.

The Friulani had only won a single game all season against nine-man Milan, so the fightback to beat the Reds 3-2 in their iconic stadium was a big surprise.

“We played an excellent second half on a magical evening that gives us a real boost in terms of results and confidence,” grinned the Coach on Mediaset Premium.

“We have to focus on Napoli now and it will be very tough, but right now I am just so happy. I want to share this joy with my children, who live in England and I don’t get to see very often.”

Antonio Di Natale was frozen out at the weekend due to a dressing room row, but he hugged Guidolin after his goal just 33 seconds into the restart.

“We had already clarified everything. At half-time I tried to bring out the best in myself to reassure the lads, who I had seen a little depressed and demoralised. We talked for five minutes in the dressing room and also changed the tactics, but did well to score after just 30 seconds.

“Toto’s gesture was very kind, as he came to compliment me for what he heard in the locker room.

“We hadn’t done badly up until the goal, but it was a bad end to the first half. I knew that if we played well, then we could’ve achieved something important.”
