Former Barcelona hero Pep Guardiola admits he could consider taking the Milan job, “but I won’t coach this year.”

The Spanish tactician is the first choice for Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi, especially now that Massimiliano Allegri is hanging by a thread.

“Would I manage the Spanish national team? You never know. It’s just that New York is so nice,” he said at a Mexico City charity event.

When asked if his next destination would be Milan or Manchester United, the response was equally cryptic.

“I don’t know… I said I wouldn’t coach this year. I am learning English and getting to know the city.”

Guardiola resigned from Barcelona over the summer after claiming he was “too stressed” to continue, so the 41-year-old handed the reins to assistant manager Tito Vilanova.

He has strong ties to Italy, having played in Serie A for Roma and Brescia.

“I don’t know when I will return to football. I said I would come back when I felt like it and right now I don’t feel like it.”
