President Silvio Berlusconi gave his green light to start the negotiations for Milan's sale, say reports.

Today was expected to be a crucial date in the ongoing business of the Rossoneri's property turnover, a drama which has already undergone many stops and starts.

One of the reasons behind the delay had to do with the President's reluctance to sell the club, and his doubts about the dependability of the buyers.

One of the reasons behind the delay had to do with the President's reluctance to sell the club, and his doubts about the dependability of the buyers.

According to MilanNews.com, President Berlusconi has now given his consent to the sale.

A sudden meeting of the board of directors has been called, and chief executive Pasquale Cannatelli was asked to sign the opening deal with the Chinese conglomerate.

This is not yet a deal for the sale itself, but only the first formal step that could lead to a sale on the long run. However, it secures Chinese interest for at least as long as their due diligence will take.
