Udinese coach Luca Gotti concedes the 3-0 defeat to Lazio was a crushing result. "We have to divide our limitations with giving credit to our opponents."

The Zebrette were brushed aside by Simone Inzaghi’s men at the Stadio Olimpico this afternoon, the Aquile's sixth consecutive victory.

“After Lazio made it 3-0, I didn’t see our heads drop, we all tried to play until the end," he said in a press conference.

"Having said that, we gave away goals because we were too soft in our own area, we didn’t try to create anything at the other end and we allowed them to play to their strengths.

"At this point, we have to divide our limitations with giving credit to our opponents."

Asked if he has to change the make-up of his side during this caretaker spell, Gotti said he wants to keep things simple.

“You reason that you can make some changes. But today, it was better to keep things simple, trying to better understand the details that we already know as opposed to creating new elements.”

Udinese face Bologna at the Dacia Arena in the Coppa Italia fourth round on Wednesday.
