Udinese coach Luca Gotti looks forward to a run of ‘easier matches’ after the 2-0 defeat to Inter on Sunday. ‘It could give our team some more chances’.

It ended in a 2-0 defeat to Inter on Sunday, as Joaquin Correa scored a brace to help Simone Inzaghi’s game pick up another win and put pressure on Napoli and Milan at the top.

Udinese, however, have been through a run of tough games and Gotti looks ahead, believing the Friuli will get better chances in the future.

The Bianconeri sit 14th in Serie A after 11 games, with as many points and thus three points behind the top half in Serie A.

“Having two physical players up front like Success and Beto, able to compete with Inter’s defenders, we too often sought for the long solution by giving them the possession they wanted,” Gotti told UdineseTV.

“We should have had a little more courage and personality to change the game. After Inter took the lead, we tried to be more dangerous but at the same time gave space in behind, which they are very good at exploiting.

“In general, we played against a strong team with great players in all roles, I tried to exploit the three games in six days to take away some minutes from a few tired players, especially in the roles with the greatest physical expenditure.

“I thought that with Jajalo we would have more chances to play with a playmaker, but we didn’t do well as a team to play like this.

“There are no easy games, we have scored 11 points in 11 games and in my opinion, they don’t reflect what we have done on the pitch, but this is the reality.

“There are eight matches between now and the end of the first round of fixtures. There are some matches that would seem to be easier for us and that could give our team some more chances.”

  1. Terrible coach. His team is unable to string together two passes even though he has many quality players.

    I hope they get relegated.
