Destro went off with a muscular problem and Romero was called into action again, this time on Caleb Ekuban from 12 yards on the Domenico Criscito lay-off.
Sirigu also had the odd save to make, such as on Caldara’s header from a Sofiane Kiyine free kick in the final stages.
Kiyine then went on a dangerous slalom, the curling finish flashing just wide of the far post.
