Inter left-back Robin Gosens does not regret joining Inter but claims that not being selected for the World Cup with Germany was the ‘lowest point’ in his career.

The Nerazzurri defender has released an interview with the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. “Not having played at the World Cup was a huge disappointment, the lowest point in my career so far,” he said.

Gosens joined Inter on loan with an obligation to buy from Atalanta in January 2022 but has somehow been unable to live up to the standards he had reached in Bergamo.

“I undervalued my injury, I am a player who strongly relies on physicality,” he admitted.

“I didn’t recover the shape of the past, which means I was not able to be who I wanted on the pitch for a long time.”

Nevertheless, the 28-year-old has no regrets about his move to the Stadio Meazza.

“I play for one of the best clubs in world, currently we are among the top eight clubs in Europe.”
