Fiorentina will play outside the Stadio Franchi for two years starting from mid-2024 and the Tuscans are considering several options away from their home venue, including Empoli, Parma and Reggio Emilia.

Florence Mayor Dario Nardella revealed on Tuesday that the Tuscans would have to move out of the Franchi to allow the stadium’s refurbishment, which will begin in the summer. Fiorentina will have to play outside their home venue from mid-2024 until mid-2026 and Gazzetta lists the options for the Tuscans away from Florence.

Reggio Emilia’s Mapei Stadium, where Sassuolo and Serie C side Reggiana play their home games appears to be a ‘natural option’ if Fiorentina qualify for Europe next season.

The closes venue is Empoli’s Stadio Castellani, although public order must be taken into account if Fiorentina pick their rivals’ stadium which also has a limited capacity with less than 17,000 seats available. Other options for Fiorentina are Modena, Parma, La Spezia, Ferrara and Perugia.
