There are reports that Gianluigi Buffon and Mattia De Sciglio will be back fit to play some part in Italy’s World Cup group stage.

The duo both missed the Azzurri’s 2-1 win over England last Saturday – the goalkeeper suffering an ankle injury, and the defender out with a calf strain.

However, Sky Sport Italia have claimed that the Milan youngster was back on the pitch this morning to train on his own in a bid to regain fitness.

The network believes that the full-back is likely to still be unavailable this Friday for the match against Costa Rica, but claim that the match with Uruguay next week could see him return.

Buffon meanwhile, did not take part in today’s session, but Sky are confident that he will be fit in time for the match in Recife in four days’ time.

There was bad news for Cesare Prandelli this morning though, as Daniele De Rossi and Andrea Barzagli also sat out the session, with neck and tendonitis problems, respectively.
