Maxime Gonalons has what it takes to stay at Roma “for a long time”, according to his agent.

Gonalons has managed just 11 appearances for Roma since joining from Olympique Lyonnais last summer, but Frederic Guerra insists his problems have stemmed from adapting to life in Italy and a calf injury – both of which the 29-year-old has overcome.

“Maxime’s still in the Giallorossi’s plans and Di Francesco is counting on him a lot,” he told Rete Sport.

“Maxime’s still in the Giallorossi’s plans and Di Francesco is counting on him a lot,” he told Rete Sport.

“Today he’ll resume working with the team after his injury, so he can go back to helping them.

“He had some problems adapting in the first half of the season, but now he’s ready. The first year is always complicated, especially in a city like Rome.

“He’s done many good things lately, like learn Italian and improve in terms of communication.

“He worked a lot on his linguistic skills so he could fit into the group as well as possible.

“Will he still be here next season? Of course! There have been no negative signs from the club.

“For this reason, the lad is willing to wear the Giallorossi shirt for a long time.”
