The Florence newspaper states that while Gomez will not be ready for the midweek clash with Udinese, he could be in the squad for Sunday’s trip to Sampdoria.
The news will be welcome for Viola coach Vincenzo Montella, as Gomez’s fellow striker Giuseppe Rossi is also sidelined, after surgery on another knee injury.
