However, Sky Sport Italia report this evening that a clause included in the Boca contract has infuriated the player and his agent.

These negotiations have been going on for the best part of eight months and could collapse yet again.

Gomez is a 25-year-old Paraguay international who cost €8.5m to buy from Lanus in 2016.

Last season, he made only one 10-minute appearance in the Europa League.
