Olivier Giroud’s agent Michael Manuello met Milan directors on Wednesday to discuss a contract extension for the France striker.

Giroud’s contract at the Stadio Meazza expires this coming June and the two parties are in talks to reach an agreement over a new deal.

The striker’s representative, Manuello, met the Rossoneri directors at Casa Milan on Wednesday, as reported by Sky Sport Italia.

The defending Serie A champions hope to extend with the ex-Chelsea and Arsenal striker until June 2024.

The two parties are not expected to have reached an agreement today and more meetings over the next few weeks will be necessary to put pen to paper on a new contract.

Giroud, 36, joined Milan from Chelsea in 2021 and has scored 26 goals in 72 appearances with the Rossoneri, winning the Serie A title in 2021-22.

He became France’s all-time leading scorer during the World Cup in Qatar.
