Olivier Giroud will be available to Stefano Pioli and Milan for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Napoli on Tuesday evening.

There had previously been fears that the Frenchman would be forced to sit out on the crucial European tie through an achilles tendon issue sustained towards the end of last week.

The 36-year-old was not part of the squad that trained at Milanello on Sunday and was rested for the 1-1 draw with Bologna in Serie A on Saturday, along with nine other outfield players who started against Napoli the previous Wednesday.

However, Giroud was present in training on Monday morning, along with all other members of Milan’s official Champions League squad according to Tuttomercato.

The report claims that there should be no concerns around Giroud heading into the game with Napoli at the Maradona on Wednesday and that he should be fully available to play.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker played the entirety of the first leg of the quarter-final and has been influential for Milan over the course of the season, notching 12 goals from 37 appearances in all competitions.
