Olivier Giroud will play his 100th game for Milan today and the club are ready to move forward with the veteran striker.

The 37-year-old striker has proven himself a key figure in Stefano Pioli’s squad over the last two years and things have been no different this term, where the Frenchman has netted seven goals and provided three assists in 14 total matches.

Giroud, who has entered the last year of his contract with Milan, has made 99 appearances in the Lombardy capital since his arrival, picking up 39 goals in that time. He is set to start against Lecce this weekend, bringing him to the 100-game milestone.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan are looking for a new striker but still want to lock down Giroud to a new contract. The current idea is to extend his stay by another year to June 2025, something the Frenchman is keen for.

His agent has already received offers from clubs in the MLS, but Giroud’s priority is to stay with Milan for the next 18 months, wanting to win the 20th Scudetto with the club.
