Sebastian Giovinco’s agent has dismissed decisively the rumours that the Juventus man may pass into the ranks of Fiorentina in the near future.

The Atomic Ant has been struggling to find consistent playing time with the Bianconeri, and with his contract coming up to its final six months, he is being continually linked with a move away.

Whilst admitting to his frustration yesterday after Italy’s win over Albania, Giovinco also commented that a January move would be unlikely.

This is a point his agent has picked up on today, in discussing rumours of a mid-season move to Fiorentina, as part of a swap deal involving Stefan Savic.

“There is absolutely no truth in that, it's fantasy football,” Andrea D'Amico has told calciomercatonews.com.

“At this moment there are no contacts with Fiorentina and no hypotheses of this kind.”

D'Amico was no less sceptical about negotiations with other teams: “At this moment everything is standing still, and as the player himself already confirmed, I doubt there is a chance that he may move in January.”

Nonetheless, Giovinco's contract is set to expire next summer, and D'Amico had nothing to say about a potential renewal: “At this moment there is no news on this topic.

“The Bianconeri have not contacted us about this subject. There may be developments in the next few months, but of course I cannot know that now.”

If Giovinco's contract is not renewed, the player may of course leave the team for free.

“But that's not a concrete scenario,” the agent specified.

“It would only be the natural course of the situation in the absence of new developments. Again, it's too early to say.”
