He is still co-owned by Juventus, but a return to Turin seems unlikely.

Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giovinco said: "I am very satisfied with the decision that I made.

"I have a great relationship with the club and I like the city a lot.

"Right now I only hope to double this joy by ensuring Parma's survival as soon as possible."

Asked about his fledgling Italy career, Giovinco said: "I am very proud. It was a reward for my performances.

"Now I have to work more every day to continue to be a part of the Italy squad.

"I would like to go to Euro 2012."

Finally Giovinco denied reports that his relationship with Alessandro Del Piero played a part in his exit from Juventus.

"No," he said. "There was a normal relationship between teammates. Everyone has their own character and their own way of being.

"I can't say that we shared great confidence, but this doesn't mean that we didn't have a good relationship."
